In this example you will teach your dog to sit. If you are clicker training another creature pick a behavior that is appropriate for them.

Even if your dog knows how to sit on cue you should try this game. This "sit" game will show how simple it is to teach the clicker to your dog. It will also show you how your dog is able to figure out what you want them to do even when you don't give them a command. It is very important that you do not talk to him or give him any verbal or hand signals while you play this game. Start by getting your dog, clicker and a pile of treats.

1. Click the clicker once.

2. Toss one treat to your dog.

3. Repeat clicking once and tossing one treat to your dog until he begins staring at the clicker instead of the treats.

If you have a dial-up connection, you may need to wait for 45 seconds for the animation to run at the correct speed.

4. Next, wait until your dog sits anywhere. As soon as his bottom hits the ground, click and toss him a treat. Repeat clicking and treating him for sitting in a variety of locations. Then Click Here

If your dog does not sit after waiting for a few minutes then click here. Click Here
